My name is Christina and I love living my life for Jesus with all my heart. I am super outgoing and always on the hunt for new adventures in life. When I have down time, my hobbies include reading, cooking new recipes, and binging "Friends" on Netflix. I was born in Asheville, NC and have always been a mountain girl. Needless to say, this ministry opportunity aligns perfectly with my love for the mountains. I am so excited to see all the great things God will do for this community in Kenya, through Hike for Hope.

Hey friends, I’m Zari! In 2018, I remember saying I had reached my hiking quota for the next 5 years. Obviously, God had other plans. I am pumped for this journey as I discover that hiking isn’t actually that bad when you are doing it to advance God’s Kingdom. Fun facts about me:
- I graduated from the University of GA #GoDawgs
- I’m currently a Duke Divinity Student #Classof2021
- I love public speaking
- I love giving God my ‘yes’ and seeing how He desires to blow my mind. Will you join me on this amazing journey?

Hola! I’m so excited to be a part of the Hike for Hope mission. With a hardened resolve I took this opportunity to obey this unremovable call to Kenya to play an active role in supporting the lovely people of a nation who have suffered from the abuses of human trafficking. I’m confident in my ability to bring out the best in everyone I touch. Moreover, I’m eager to see how God will use my fellow team leaders, friends, family and loved ones to make a part of the world a better place. Take action and put away the excuses of your heart as you make the world better for ALL men and women! You’ll be glad you did.
Krav Maga Instructor, fitness enthusiast, Exercise and Sport Science Major #UNC-CH, lover of people and a child of God.

Hello! My name is Troy Bruzdzinski and I will be one of the trip leaders on this amazing journey. Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, I was first introduced to newhope through another trip leader, Benjamin Kelley, who was my randomly assigned suite-mate our freshman year at the University of South Carolina. I have always been passionate about the outdoors, and my favorite ways to experience nature are mountain biking, rock climbing, photography, camping, and of course hiking. I am NOLS Wilderness First Aid certified, and have previously led outdoor expeditions with the Boy Scouts and the UofSC Mountaineering and Whitewater Rafting Club. The mountains have played a remarkable role in my life, both physically and spiritually, and I cannot wait to share this experience with a group of dedicated and driven newhopers. It is such an incredible opportunity to become closer to God through leadership, service, and new challenges, and to welcome the new decade from atop the second highest mountain in Africa. Thank you to everyone who is making it possible by participating and following along at home and donating to the Hope Center!

My true passion is working with kids and you can normally find me over in hopetown teaching the children about Jesus! I am so thankful that God has given me this opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and extend his love to people across the world!!

As a kid, I loved being outside and digging in the sandbox. Who knew you could make a career of it?
As a contactor I spend much of my time outside, and now get to play with life size Tonka trucks.
I have been married 30 years and have known Jesus for 20. My wife and I have two great kids.
Trust God, and Do Good is how I try to live.
I’m trusting God will get me to the top of Mt. Kenya, doing good with the money raised for the Hope Center.

Hey! I’m Ryan Thedford and I love to be active, I cannot sit still forever, my ADD won’t allow it! Being outdoors is one of the places where I love to be to stay active. My favorite activities to do outdoors is camping, hiking, swimming, running, walking, exploring different places, seeing new faces, and learning about different cultures in person. When I am indoors trying to stay active, the things that I do is write stories, read books (geography, biographies, history, religious, and fiction), and watch movies (in theaters mostly)!

Hello, I'm Benjamin! When approached about making this trip a reality, it seemed like a far-fetched idea. But here we are, and I am ecstatic for such an incredible opportunity to praise God at 17,000 feet with a team of inspirational newhopers in support of the Hope Center.
Here's a few things about me: I am a student at the University of South Carolina (Go Cocks!), a Certified Rock Climbing Instructor, and an avid hiker and adventure-seeker.
We are embarking on a journey of personal challenge and growth, and you can accompany us by joining a #team. We would love to have your support!

“Climb Mount Kenya? Are you CRAZY?”
That was my enthusiastic response to my husband’s question - but I came around.
Let’s see…..I’m the master of ordinary, and hater of perfection. I love all the little things - because they are so BIG, and I believe time is our greatest gift to give. Spend it well.

Hey... Randy here. I've had the awesome opportunity to be a part of Hope Missions several years now and am excited for this next great adventure! Seeing friends from my last visit to Kenya and getting the opportunity to be a part of what God is doing there and in our team is going to be amazing. I've been blessed to be a part of many organizations and know that building relationship is key in truly impacting the people in communities being served.
Some fun facts about me... motorcycles, building things, mountain bikes, football, basketball and being out on the water. Summer is definitely my favorite time even though the heat can be brutal. Been in NC 4 1/2 years now and loving it!

My name is Anasthesia Norris and I love music, hiking and kayaking. God is doing big things in my life and I am so excited to be living my life for him! I am so excited to be hiking up Mount Kenya for several reasons. One, I love Kenya so much. This will be my third time going to Kenya and I can’t wait. Two, I have already seen where this community center will be and so many of the children and families it will benefit. I have such a heart for that area in Kenya and I can’t wait to see how God moves through this community center. My husband, Keegan, and I have been training hard and can’t wait to see how God moves through Hike for Hope. We both have such huge hearts for missions and reaching all people for Christ and we can’t wait to watch God move as we go on this journey together!

Hello, my name is Keegan, and I love to get dirty. I enjoy anything that keeps me active and outside. A few of my favorite things are: fishing, hunting, kayaking, and hiking. I’m also a gardening fanatic. My wife and I had the opportunity to go to Kenya last year and visit the Kiganjo campus. We got to be involved in some of the cleanup on the Hope Center site, and had the privilege of seeing the faces of the children that this center will serve. Most of my outdoor adventures have been for fun, I’m excited that my next adventure will be for something far greater.
